Pay Monthly with Float
Split your device over 2 to 6 interest-free monthly instalments using the credit card you already have. No application, no credit check, and your order ships straight away.
How it works
What you need
Float works with the available limit on a South African issued Visa or Mastercard credit card you already hold. It is not a loan and not a new credit facility.
Debit cards, cheque cards, store cards and foreign-issued cards don’t work with Float. If you don’t have a credit card, use Happy Pay or Ozow Instant EFT instead.
Common questions
Is this a loan?
No. Float never issues you new credit. It simply spreads a purchase across the limit already on your credit card, so there is nothing to apply for and no credit check.
What does it cost me?
Nothing extra. Float charges no interest and no fees, so a R12,000 phone over 6 months is R2,000 a month and R12,000 in total. Your usual credit card terms still apply between you and your bank.
When does my device ship?
Straight away, the same as any other order — 1–5 working days nationwide. You don’t wait for the instalments to finish.
Why does my full order amount show as reserved?
Because Float uses your existing credit, it reserves the full purchase amount on your card so the money is there for every instalment. The reserve isn’t a charge and carries no interest, and it shrinks each month as you pay down the balance.
Do I still earn my card rewards?
Yes — it runs on your own credit card, so your bank’s rewards or points work exactly as normal.
Is it safe?
Float uses a PCI DSS Level 1 certified processor, never stores your card details, and adds 3D Secure on the first authorisation. Full details are on float.co.za.
